Library Services for Seniors:
Southern Tablelands Regional Library offers a wide range of materials in a variety of formats, some that may be of particular interest to seniors are:
Large Print Books: This collection has both fiction and non-fiction books published using a larger than normal font for those with impaired vision or for those looking for an easier reading format.
Goulburn Library also has available Readers Digest magazine in large print format.
Audiobooks: The audiobook collection encompasses both CD and tape formats and fiction and non-fiction for people who like to listen as they work or drive or as an alternative to the printed book.
Home Library Service -- This is a free service provided for those people who, due to disability or illness, are unable to make their own selections at the library.
If you wish to join as a Home Library borrower or would like to help by delivering selections to Home Library Borrowers, please contact your local branch for more detail.
Local Seniors Groups:
Goulburn Senior Activities Club Inc. meets in the McDermott Centre, Auburn Street Goulburn. The group meets every Tuesday at 10 am, activities include a darts & carpet bowls morning, a quiz morning, a games morning and a sing-a-long morning. The group also meets every second Friday at 3pm (Pension week) for either Housie or cards. Subscription is $5.00 per year.
