Make a donation of Books, CDs or DVDs

Southern Tablelands Regional Library is always pleased to receive donations from patrons, as long as the donation falls within the guidelines of the Library's Collection Development Policy.

All donations become the property of the Regional Library and future decisions to transfer or discard the item remain the right of the Regional Library.

Whenever possible, all donations begin their circulation at the branch it was donated to, however, after usage there, it may be sent to another branch for other borrowers to enjoy.

Terms and conditions of use cannot be stipulated by the donor, unless submitted in writing prior to the donation being accepted, and agreed to by the Regional Library Manager.

Some donations are not suitable for the library:

  • A number of copies may already be held in our branches.
  • The item may not be robust enough to meet the demands of a lending library.
  • The item may not have sufficient general appeal
  • The item may contain inaccurate or dated information

If this is the case the item may be sold and the proceeds used to purchase new resources. If it cannot be sold, it may be given to charity.
