With Love Knit In
Join
the Wrap with
Love Knitting Group of Goulburn to knit a square for the ABC
Knit In and convert woollen squares into blankets for the needy.
If you can’t knit don’t worry, you can raid your cupboards for spare
wool and donate it during the month of July.
The
week of the 28th July to 3rd August is Local
Government Week and the theme for this year is Over
the Fence: Cultivating our own Backyard.
Local Government Week provides a focus for councils to promote the importance of Local Government to the community. The
week provides opportunities for public participation in Local Government
and shows the community how they can be part of their council's day-to-day
activities. It enables councils to educate the community about the
importance of the services that local government provides. Councils across
NSW hold a variety of special events during this time. With
this theme in mind the branches of the Southern Tablelands Regional
Library will have a fence that residents can “toss ideas over”.
So if you have a view on how you think your town can be improved,
or even why you just love it the way it is, go into your local library
between the 28th
July to 3rd August and
be heard. |
